Spring into an active Easter holidays with the kids

Let’s face it; Easter would not be the same without the chocolate! And chocolate, in moderation, can be a treat as part of a balanced diet. But to counteract all those Easter treats we have found some options for keeping the kids (and yourselves) active over the school holidays.
Children who keep active and maintain a healthy weight tend to build better social skills, have improved mental wellbeing and generally better physical health. They also have been proven to learn more effectively and be more self-confident so encouraging them stay active benefits both you and them.
There are several parks across Rother with various amenities, be it a nice country walk or a big play area to wear the kids out in whilst you sip on a cup of coffee. Find out more about parks and open spaces in Bexhill, Battle and Rye. Or take advantage of over 2 miles of seafront in Bexhill and have a nice stroll (or scoot!) along to Galley Hill.
Fancy trying something new? There is a free golf taster session for girls at Dale Hill Golf Club on Sunday 8th April between 1pm-3pm. Open to ages 5 – 18 and all equipment is supplied. More details can be found on the Getting into Golf website.
Swimming is a great way to get your kids active whilst they are still having fun. Freedom Leisure has pools in Bexhill and Rye and Bexhill has a kid friendly timetable over the Easter holidays.
If you are looking for something a bit more involved then Boom Active are running their multi-sports kids holiday clubs in Hastings and Bexhill between the 3rd and 13th April for half or full day sessions. Each day the kids take part in different sporting activities set around the theme of the day. These include group challenges, inflatable days, obstacle courses and wet ‘n’ wild days. Theses holiday clubs are open to 5 -11 year olds.
