ABOUT THE ACTIVE ROTHER PARTNERSHIP

The one-stop-shop for low-cost quality assured community-based sport and physical activity opportunites for Rother residents

ABOUT US

Active Rother is a partnership made up of local government organisations, the NHS, activity providers and community groups. The partnership is coordinated by Rother District Council.

Through this partnership, Active Rother aim to facilitate and encourage the development of a wide range of low cost, quality assured activities that will contribute to increased levels of physical activity within the Rother area.

PROJECTS

With our partners we facilitate a number of projects which target particular groups within the community. These focus on making sport available for everyone.

STRATEGY

In order to guide its work, the Partnership has produced a local sport and physical activity strategy setting out its aims and priorities.

The current strategy was produced in 2012 and is currently being updated to reflect national and local policy influences such as the new Sport England strategy ‘ Towards An Active Nation’  and the Hastings and Rother Clinical Commissioning Group Reducing Health Inequalities programme.

MEETINGS

The Active Rother Partnership meet four times a year. All agenda, meeting papers and minutes are available to the public.

In addition, we run occasional workshops to enable partners to hear more in-depth presentations on projects and to enable them to contribute to future planning.

QUALITY ASSURANCE FRAMEWORK

All activity opportunities developed and promoted under the Active Rother Partnership are covered by criteria set out within a quality assurance framework.

All activity organisers need to provide the Active Rother Programme office at Rother District Council with evidence that the activity(s) they are delivering are done so by appropriately trained staff and that they have the necessary insurance is in place.
