Health walks

Hastings and  Rother PCT have worked in partnership to design Health Walks. The aim is to encourage people to take up exercise who may not have done so for a while, either through injury or through lack of access or motivation.

The majority of these led walks are circular in route and have start and finish points that are designed for access by public transport and to have free parking.

All the Health Walks are led by Volunteer Walk Leaders who are trained by the National Walking the Way to Health Initiative. During a walk, one Leader walks up front and another is a ‘Back Leader’ so no one is left behind. All new walkers will be asked to fill out a confidential health questionnaire on their first walk.
