Partnership projects
Hastings & Rother PCT, Rother District Council along with other partners, are committed to increasing physical activity levels in the Rother area. Schemes are developed to make being active an easier choice for residents of Rother. Many exciting projects both past and present have enabled greater participation for a variety of people:
- Girls Gettin’ Active: sessions for girls aged 10-16 that have been specially designed to give an opportunity to have great fun getting active. Girls have fun trying cheerleading, trampolining, BMX and street dance.
- Superstrollers: aimed at those with babies and toddlers that want to get back into shape! Parents are invited to come along with their babies in pushchairs and take part in a range of brisk walking, stretching and fitness activities, which provides a whole body workout!
- Hastings & Rother Health Walks: are perfect for those who are new to exercise or that may be easing in gently after an injury. Led by fully trained Volunteer Walk Leaders with front and back markers so no one is lost or left behind! For details of Health Walks and other walking activities visit the Health Walks section.
- Aquababes: water confidence course for babies and toddlers held at Rye Sports Centre & Pool and Bexhill Leisure Pool (known as Aquatots) – for more information visit the Freedom Leisure website.
- ActiveStreetGames: is for 13-19 year olds looking to have fun whilst playing multi-sports activities. For information on where and when, visit the Rother Children and Young People's Activity Calendar
Information on these projects and many more besides will be published on this website soon.
